Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Jet Skiing Make-out Session - Gather Celebs News Channel

The Justin Bieber-Selena Gomez PDA pics just keep on coming. The happy and obviously totally in love couple were photographed yesterday making out while jet skiing. Yes, jet skiing. Selena and the Biebs just couldn't help seizing the opportunity to lock lips even as they skimmed along over the luminescent waters of the blue Pacific.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are obviously having loads of fun indulging in a variety of activities during their Maui vacation, including various water sports. Yesterday, Selena and the Biebs were photographed parasailing over the Pacific. Selena's reaction to the above-the-water experience remains unknown, but Justin had definite misgivings.

"1200 feet in the air," he Tweeted later. "...not the best feeling. lol"

The teen dream obviously felt much better in a couple of jet skiing pics. Justin and Selena were snapped in two classic Kodak moments, zipping over the waves astride a red jet ski. In the first photo, Selena is driving, and she and Justin are both looking at something which seems to be behind them to their right. Classic vacation stuff. In the second shot, Selena is still in the driver's seat, but they're obviously just floating this one out. It's a good thing, since in this pic, she and her boyfriend only have eyes for each other—or, perhaps we should say, lips. Justin is still seated behind her with his arms around her waist. Selena is clasping his hands in front of her and twisting around for what looks like an unabashedly passionate lip lock. Hey, guys, get a room.

Hopefully, the jealous fans who are already Tweeting anti-Selena Gomez hate messages into cyberspace over earlier intimate Jelena pics won't get their collective panties in yet another bunch over this. True beliebers should be happy that their idol is having some fun after working so hard during his My World Tour. Besides, he's 17. How long does anything last at age 17?

Note: Maybe Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez should star in a remake of an old teen beach movie romance. From these candid jet ski make-out photos, they'd be perfect for it. Never Say Never.

© Hope Carson 2011

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Justin Bieber debuts Jesus tattoo in Hawaii with Selena Gomez - Los Angeles Times (blog)

Justin Bieber is making it clear that he isn't just that little tween boy who sang "Baby" anymore. And he has another tattoo and six Billboard Music Awards to prove it.

The Canadian-born pop star showed off his new ink while vacationing with lady love Selena Gomez in Hawaii. (He happened to be flaunting her shortly after a nationally televised kiss at the Billboard Music Awards.) The tat is a vertical Hebrew inscription reading "Yeshua," which means Jesus. The 17-year-old inconspicuously displayed the word down his left side, according to The Daily.

The proud Christian stopped in Israel on his My World tour in April, where he was photographed at biblical sites -- rumor has it that's where he got his new ink.

Interestingly, traditional Jews forgo tattooing because it goes against a Leviticus teaching that orders followers not to gash their flesh. So why the Hebrew? We're not sure, but we're guessing he might be following a trend: Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears all have similar indelible insignias in the ancient language too.

But the inscription is just the freshest of his inks: His first tattoo is that of a seagull from the Richard Bach novella "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." The avian outline is perched near his lower left pelvic bone and made its way there on his 16th birthday.

What do you think of the Biebs' tattoo -- too cool or too inappropriate?

RELATED:

Sightings: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez share a slice; Tom Felton shops

Justin Bieber gives Selena Gomez a very public kiss at Billboard Music Awards

Justin Bieber frustrated with Israeli paparazzi; Selena Gomez spotted with ex Nick Jonas

-- Nardine Saad
Twitter.com/NardineSaad

Photo: Justin Bieber performs in Tel Aviv, Israel, on April 14, 2011. Justin Bieber: 'Someday' Fragrance Commercial Starts Bizarre Twitter Frenzy - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber's new commercial for his new perfume, Someday, has started a weird Twitter frenzy. For some reason, it's causing a flurry of extreme reactions online from haters and beliebers alike. Not since the death threats spawned a few months back by the his budding relationship with girlfriend, Selena Gomez, has the teen dream caused such a variety of passionate written reactions. It's more than just bizarre. It's almost spooky.

Yes, Justin Bieber has inadvertently elicited a firestorm of extreme praise, vicious criticism, and just plain puzzlement on the Internet with his new Someday commercial. In the ad, the Never Say Never star becomes airborne like a comely sprite still possessed of swagger. Hovering above the earth against a backdrop of sun-gilded clouds, he romances a model, mostly by sniffing her, stroking her hair, and giving her a piggy back ride as he floats around the skies. The commercial ends with the two canoodling over a bottle of the apparently magical perfume before the Biebs steals away--presumably to catch the next wind gust back into the stratosphere.

It's a bit overblown, but, it's just a commercial--not a major motion picture. However, the reactions online make it seem like a remake of Gone with the Wind. The negative comments were... harsh. One tweeted:

LMFAO AT JUSTIN BIEBER'S PERFUME COMMERCIAL. WHAT DA FUQ IS THIS.

The positive reactions were largely garden variety true belieber worshipful praise:

...we r expecting to fly in heaven with @justinbieber everytime we spray this product. sincerely, beliebers.

wow the commercial for SOMEDAY is haaaawt!!

Lastly, some respondents were just confused:

@justinbieber to be honest I thought the #someday commercial was a little bit confusing :) But I love u anyway!

Confusion is probably the safest reaction. By the way, the girl in the video is Dree Hemingway who is the daughter of actress Mariel Hemingway and great-granddaughter of literary giant, Ernest Hemingway.

Wonder what that macho guy would make of this?

© Hope Carson 2011

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Justin Bieber Stranded in LA After Fantasy Car Breaks Down - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber has certainly been living it up in California since his return to the U.S. after completing his exhausting My World Tour. On Thursday night, he took his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, on a date to Costa Mesa's La Cave club and ended up onstage duetting Come Home to Me with his friend Ernie Halter. Earlier today, the Biebs found himself stranded on the streets of downtown L.A. when the battery died in his car.

Ordinarily, a dead car battery wouldn't be news--even when the driver is Justin Bieber. What makes this story interesting is the kind of car the teen dream was driving. Apparently, the Biebs had been hanging out all morning with Rob Dyrdek at his Fantasy Factory, admiring all the "cool cars." He decided to take one of them for a test ride. And the car he selected for his joy ride was cool indeed. Painted a bright purple which, as all true beliebers know, is Justin Bieber's favorite color, it sported his initials, JB, painted in big bright silver block letters on the hood. Actually, it looked like a combination race car and kid's model/toy. You can see photos of the car with JB sitting in it by clicking here.

Alas, the Biebs' joy ride turned out to be a short one. The battery died and Justin had to call for help. A replacement car was promptly sent out to him. According to TMZ, he "didn't have to wait too long for help to arrive... [because] the Biebs does not like to be kept waiting."

That's probably true. No one likes to be kept waiting for very long. However, lest anyone misunderstand that quote and interpret it as just another example of the teen idol's "brat-like" behavior, nothing could be further from the truth. Anyone who knows the City of the Angels also knows that downtown L.A. is not the kind of place where you want to hang out on the street. Even if you're Justin Bieber. Or perhaps, especially if you're Justin Bieber.

Just saying.

© Hope Carson 2011

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Ernie Halter Talks 'Ridiculously Awesome' Justin Bieber Surprise - MTV.com

Justin Bieber joined Ernie Halter onstage to perform Halter's "Come Home to Me" (off his album Franklin & Vermont) on Thursday night in Costa Mesa, California. When Halter got on the phone with MTV News bright and early Friday (May 20) morning, he was still reeling from the experience.

"I still can't wrap my brain around it. It's bizarre," he told us. "I was really impressed with how humble and very sweet him and Selena [Gomez] were to me. They're both incredibly nice people. It's pretty crazy."

He then described how Bieber ended up taking the stage with him. "Well, I mean, him coming to the show, I don't know why I didn't see that coming. I just didn't. I guess I'm slow, but I had no idea until I actually saw him and Selena. I went probably mentally not there for a minute or two.

"I was at the gig last night, which is not close to L.A. at all. He really wanted to go and then I'm talking to someone and out of the corner of my eye I look over and that really looks a lot like Selena Gomez," he continued. "I looked to see who she was with and I went speechless for a couple minutes. I asked him [to perform with me] and he said yes. It was a little bit of a surprise because I didn't think he would do it."

With Bieber's blessing hitting Twitter, the Internet is quickly following and Halter's Internet stock is rising. "I have a tweet deck on my computer and it flashes every second [now] and there's no way I would have been able to envision that," he said. "It's ridiculous. It's ridiculously awesome."

While Bieber has made it clear he's a fan of Halter, is Halter a fan of Bieber?

"Entirely [I get it]. I've been a fan and I really believe he's extremely talented," he said, explaining that his 3-year-old son got him into the Biebs. "The type of reach that he has worldwide is really iconic, on a level that we haven't really seen. I think he's very, very talented."

Bieber has more than 9.6 million followers on Twitter, more than Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher and President Obama. In the past year, Bieber made nearly $40 million from touring. Endorsement deals, music sales and merchandising bumped him to a total of $53 million. Not too shabby for a kid barely old enough to drive.

Usher, the man responsible for discovering Justin Bieber, also makes his debut on our list this year, coming in at No. 32. The R&B icon brought in $46 million in the past year from his concert appearances and album sales. He also earns from impressive sales of his back catalogue dating from the '90s. Fellow pop star Katy Perry has a lot to be happy about this past year. The California girl makes her first appearance on our list at No. 12, with total earnings of $44 million. Aside from concerts and album sales, Perry participated in an impressive lineup of endorsement deals, including well-known companies such as Proactiv, OPI, GHD, and Adidas ( ADDDY.PK - news - people ). 'Arrogant' Bieber video creates unBeliebers - Manila Bulletin

By JECELYN V. MACAHINDOG

Justin Bieber during his recent visit in Manila. (Photo by Ali Vicoy)

MANILA, Philippines -- After his successful one-night-only Manila concert, pop teen sensation Justin Bieber apparently left a tainted image among some Pinoys.

The 17-year-old Canadian's alleged refusal to sign autographs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was caught on cam.

"Justin Bieber, How Arrogant Can You Be" is the title of the video uploaded by user V7Andrea on May 11. The 19-second clip shows Bieber on his way to the plane when a male employee of NAIA asks an autograph for a Justin Bieber CD he is holding. Instead of refusing politely, Bieber left a bad impression by being impolite. He tapped the man's hand and the CD fell on the floor.

The description of the video read: "My father (in neon green vest) tried to get an autograph from Justin Bieber for my sister. But take a look on what he did. He tapped my father's hand and the CD fell on the floor. Nobody from his crew helped him. Not even an apology from Justin Bieber himself.

"Where are your manners now kiddo? I know you're sick but you could've at least said sorry you are not signing anything. How could you do that to my father?"

The Canadian superstar's manner sparked issue among radio commentators like DZMM's Jon Ibañez and former Vice President Noli de Castro. For them, what Bieber did was inexcusable, given the fact that he owes his superstar status to his fans.

Meanwhile, for Bieber's Pinoy die-hard fans, what their idol did was understandable because of his condition. It was reported that Bieber was sick during his Mall of Asia concert May 10 and even vomited between songs.

TV host Tim Yap, just the same, understands Bieber's "rude" manner. "We must understand that he is 17 years old. He came on the day of the concert itself. From airport, he went straight to the press conference and then after the press conference, the concert," he said in a TV interview.

During his concert in Sydney, Australia April 29, Bieber got pelted by eggs onstage while performing, almost hitting the Canadian singer. He was also branded "kind of a brat" by "Crime Scene Investigation" co-star Marg Helgenberger.

And while the show biz veteran has not yet met his 2011 pop star counterpart, he has some advice for him.

"Put the seat belt on, buddy, because it's going to be a bumpy ride."

Donny and Marie Osmond are guests on Monday's "Piers Morgan Tonight." The brother-sister duo joined the CNN host from the stage of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas where they perform.

"That kind of success at that age can really bite you in the shorts as it were -- the proverbial shorts so to speak," continued Donny. "I look at the experiences that I've gone through as a teeny bopper. You know ... I look at Justin Bieber ... and my heart breaks for him, because I know what he's going to go through. He knows. Everybody knows."

Donny went on to say that Bieber is "going to go through so much heartache, 'Baby, baby, baby. Oh my' he's going to hate that. He probably hates it right now just as much as I hated 'Puppy Love.'"

Both Donny and Marie agreed that many young entertainers today "just jump into the business," that they "get a lot of fame and fortune," and "feel entitled."

"They forget about getting out there and working and doing all those little gigs -- 366 days a year and going through the work, going through the motions," said Donny.

The pair said that their strong work ethic was instilled in them by their father, who Donny said taught them "if there's something worth doing, it's worth doing well."

Marie told Morgan she feels "blessed" to have grown up working with Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Elvis Presley.

"They didn't look at it as being a celebrity," Marie said. "They looked at it as being an entertainer. It was their job."

Donny said that the "mark that a lot of people miss nowadays" is that "they leave out the heart and soul. And that's what I learned from Sammy Davis Jr., from Frank Sinatra, is when you went to ... those shows, you got to know them."

Donny recalled seeing Presley's closing show at the Hilton in the 1970s, the night before he and Marie were set to open on that same stage.

"I remember watching the 'King' onstage. He could do no wrong. I mean the -- the attitude was in the palm of his hand."

Presley came to visit him in his dressing room the following evening, Donny said, and politely said "'Hi, everybody. I'm Elvis Presley. I just wanted to come say hi and good luck.'"

"The king of rock and roll just walked through the door, and he's a real person," said Donny. "It taught me a lot about leaving the star onstage. When you go onstage, you're just another person."

Donny said that an entertainer's genuine love for the audience is missing from many of today's acts. He said he and Marie go to great lengths to make sure their audiences "walk away feeling that they got to know us better."

Donny said Davis once told him, "The day you stop caring about your show is the day you should quit."

Marie also spoke about her recent remarriage to her first husband, Steve. The couple married 29 years ago but divorced after three years. She wore her original wedding dress, and the couple's 28-year-old son -- who went through his entire life with separated parents -- served as a witness.

Marie said that when she broke the news of the engagement to her son, he hadn't been aware his parents were even dating.

"I was recording an album. It's out. It's my first inspirational album. ... There's a song on there called, 'Tell Me to Breathe.' ... I went to my son and I said, 'I'm going to marry your father again and I need a song that says my love to him.' And so he helped write that song. And that's my song to my husband, Steve."

The couple married in Las Vegas, and Marie chose the birthday shared by her mother, Olive Osmond, who died in 2004, and her son Michael, who committed suicide last year.

"That way they could all be there kind of symbolically," said Marie. "As a matter of, we took a picture with -- I took a picture with Steve and all the kids. And I had Donny stand in for Michael. Then we're going to take -- put Michael's face on his body."

Marie said she will never get over the loss Michael, who was 18 when he died.

"There's always a place that is set in your heart at the dinner table," said Marie. "There's always a celebration when he's there."

She said the proceeds from her inspirational album will go to the Children's Miracle Network on Michael's behalf.

Donny, who has been married for 33 years, told Morgan that his marriage was "the only thing that kept me sane."

"Point to another teeny bopper star who didn't go through the drugs, the alcohol, the women," continued Donny.

'Lately I've been feeling really sick. But I always give fans the best and try to perform the best that I can'
IT'S 4:20 p.m., just hours before Justin Bieber's Manila concert, and a small group of journalists have gathered in an air-conditioned tent backstage at Mall of Asia's Concert Grounds. There is no sign of Justin Bieber.

There's a bit of a problem—they called it a wardrobe malfunction—and soon, Justin's bodyguard Kenny Hamilton was standing in front of the press, apologizing for the delay.

He displayed a flair for comedy, and after a quick "I love the Philippines," he made his exit.

Ten minutes later, Justin Bieber walked into the room. Dressed casually in a checkered shirt, knee-length denim shorts, and Vans, he looked relaxed and completely unperturbed by the evening's event and the screaming fans outside the tent. For a little over 16 minutes he answered questions about his life, his music, fame, girls and his love for pranks.

How do you feel about people who don't take your music seriously because they think you're too young?

I'm 17. I'm young. I'm not an adult yet, so people are gonna think that I make music for young people, but my music is for everybody. I definitely make songs for people my age but I'm pretty sure everybody can relate to love. It's a universal thing, it's not just for young people. I think it's all about what kind of music you like. I think my music will grow with me as a person and as I grow older.

Do you think your popularity is being put to good use?

I think that I'm able to influence people in a positive way with my music. A lot of people who are going through hard times listen to music. It's just great to hear different stories, like there was a girl and she was in the hospital going through chemotherapy, and listening to my music helped her get through it. That's a great thing in itself—that the music is able to inspire people. I think that's the best part of it.

You're a prankster. Can you share some of your most memorable pranks?

Lately I've just been stealing people's Twitters and getting on them and writing things about myself. I pranked Kenny and I wrote "Justin Bieber is amazing" on his Twitter. That's always fun.

Do you have any pranks lined up for us here in Manila?

No, I think you guys are in the clear.

How does it feel to be mentored by Usher?

Having Usher as a mentor is amazing. He's contributing a lot to my career, just helping out and guiding me in the right direction.

Who do you look up to in the music industry?

I look up to a lot of different people. Drake, he's a new kind of young star, but I look up to him in the way he's been handling himself. He's like a big brother to me. Just a lot of different people, people close to me, making it a family kind of relationship. I think that's really important.

Can you share any embarrassing moments in concert?

Two years ago, I was opening for Taylor Swift and I performed in Birmingham— and I broke my foot onstage. I was performing in front of thousands of people and I had to hop around through the rest of the song. I finished the song, but it was still pretty embarrassing.

What's your favorite video game?

Lately, we've been playing NBA 2K11 on PS3. Me and my DJ, we had this tournament and it was best two out of three and I won a hundred dollars, which was good.

Do you have a strategy on how you'll keep yourself hot when you get older?

Yeah. I think over everything, and what matters most is music. That's why I'm here, and that's why I do this. It's all because of music. Basically, I relate my emotions to everybody through music. Throughout my life, I'm gonna change, things about me will change and my music will change, but overall it's all about the music.

Your backup singers are Filipino. Did they teach you any Filipino words?

They taught me some, but they were bad, so I can't say them. What's a good word to say? Mahal kita? What does that mean? I love you? Oh okay, good.

How do you choose who to collaborate with?

It depends when I want the record to come out. I usually collaborate with people I like. Like Kanye West, Chris Brown, Rascal Flatts.

What are the things that make you happy?

I like to play basketball on my off-days, that makes me happy. I like just being with my friends. The other day we went to the Night Safari in Singapore. That was really cool, I had a lot of fun there. We've had a lot of off-days in the past couple of days so we've just been chilling and sleeping. I've been trying to catch up on sleep.

What do you do to get psyched before a performance?

We have a performance almost every night or every other night, and we always pray before we go onstage. But to get me in the game—every night is just special to me. I don't think that one night is more special than the next. I love the Philippines, but I also love Japan. They're all gonna be the same to me, they're all gonna mean as much.

I just focus and think about all my fans, that it's their one opportunity to come out and see me perform, so I always give them the best show no matter how I'm feeling. Lately, I've been feeling really sick. I have this throat congestion thing, I don't know really how to explain it, but it doesn't feel good. But I always give fans the best, and try to perform the best that I can.

Can you share some of your success secrets?

If it's working, don't change it, because that usually messes everything up. Be relatable to your fans, so other people can feel like they can relate to you, they can know how you're feeling. I think that's important. Make sure you're having fun while doing it, because if you're not having fun then it's not gonna be worth it.

How do you deal with the feeling of being treated like a god at 17?

I don't really think about it like that. My fans are really devoted, they're really special, and I really enjoy it. This has been a crazy roller coaster ride. Sometimes I get overwhelmed because it's crazy having a lot of cameras in your face and a lot of people always around you, but I'm having a lot of fun.

When you hear stories like cities are closing down or there are traffic jams all because of you, that must be something …

It is. It's crazy, it's crazy for me to think that I'm the cause of traffic jams and cities being in a craze. It's crazy, it's amazing that so many people care about me and my music so much that they wait outside the hotels or they wait in places to catch me. It's incredible. It's definitely amazing.

What's your advice for songwriters?

Write what you're feeling. Write it in a poem, that usually works. Sometimes you write songs and you have a guitar but I think that if you just write a poem, that usually works for me.

What is your favorite song of all time?

I like Boyz II Men's "On Bended Knee." I like Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror" and "Dirty Diana."

Are you interested in collaborating with Charice Pempengco and Manny Pacquiao, who also sings?

I don't know. Maybe I'll go in the ring with Manny Pacquiao.

What about Charice?

Charice is very sweet. I met her very briefly on Oprah. She was really cool, she was really nice. I wish her the best.

Do you feel that you're a role model?

I think I have to be a role model because there are so many people listening to me and watching my every move. I know I'm going to make mistakes, but I'm going to try to just be the best I can be. I'm not gonna do anything that I wouldn't normally do. But I think that I'm a good person in general, and I think that people will see that. But I definitely don't want to put on a show. Whatever comes naturally to me is what I will do.

What qualities do you have that more guys should have?

I think guys should be nice people—especially to women. Be nice to women.

Have you ever dated a Filipina?

I talked to a Filipina girl … she was Filipina and Mexican.

Would you ever consider dating a Filipina?

Yeah. For sure. In the future.

Miley's coming to Manila soon— what's a nice thing you can tell her about the Philippines?

The nicest thing I can say about the Philippines? There's a lot of beautiful beautiful women here.

Justin Bieber deals with wardrobe malfunction, aims to last in showbiz - Manila Bulletin

JUSTIN BIEBER meets with the local media moments before his concert. (Photo by Ali Vicoy)

MANILA, Philippines -- Justin Bieber is crossing over the 15-minute fame mark to lasting stardom. YouTube's biggest contribution to pop culture included Manila in his crossover journey May 10 at the SM Mall of Asia for his "My World" concert tour.

YouTube is not the only Internet tool that has kept Bieber's moment aflame. The hardworking 17-year-old also has mastered the art of communication with his supporters via regular, personal and interactive updates through his official Twitter portal @justinbieber.

Hours before the "Never Say Never" singer faced Manila media at the SM Mall of Asia Imax where Bulletin Entertainment booked a slot courtesy of the pop star's local label MCA Music, he tweeted: "Don't spread gossip and don't spread rumors about others… I'm a kid and I know that," in retaliation to an alleged claim by "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" actress Marg Helgenberger that Bieber was being a brat during a recent encounter on the set of the TV series.

The American Music Award winner added, "Rumors are just that… rumors. In the end if you just be kind and be yourself, people will know who you are. That goes for anyone. I know who I am and sometimes people are just going to say what they want. It's kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you. I will continue to wish them luck and be kind."

He followed up the post with this re-tweet: "There will always be people telling you can't do something. There will always be haters. Just keep smiling."

Wardrobe malfunction

The same social media technology that makes Bieber available to his fans is the same online stratosphere that makes it easier for haters to attack him.

Fortunately for Bieber, the "Baby" hitmaker felt zero hate in front of the local media during a press gathering mere hours before the concert.

Those who attended Bieber's press conference had to follow stricter than usual rules: No cameras, no autographs and even the media IDs the press were handed during the pre-concert huddle had to be surrendered after the Q&A.

Bieber's entourage probably became more cautious after a fan was able to throw eggs on stage mid-show of Bieber's Sydney concert in Australia.

Call-time for the Manila press con was 2:30 p.m. but at 3:40, host Mo Twister told the media to hang on 20-25 minutes more because Bieber was dealing with wardrobe malfunction.

"What matters most is music. This is where I get to relate all my emotions. My music will change but it will still be about music," Bieber told Bulletin Entertainment when asked if he had worked out a blueprint for longevity.

Bieber has no qualms facing the surreal Hollywood lifestyle he leads. True to the spirit of his youth, he said, "I get overwhelmed [with fame] but I'm having a lot of fun. I'm just enjoying it."

The teenage star also offered his music to his critics. "I'm 17, not yet an adult, yes and my music suits people my age but it's [also] for everybody [even for my critics]. Love is universal."

He credited his mentor, Usher, for the latter's guidance. "He is amazing as a mentor guiding me in the right direction. [What we have is] like a family relationship."

When asked about how he chooses the artists he collaborates with, Bieber said, "I collaborate with people I like."

Bieber performed his hits and signature stage moves Tuesday night before thousands of screaming Filipino fans.

From his very first album ("My World") to his recent "My Worlds-The Collection" and "Never Say Never-The Remixes," Bieber's arsenal of chart-toppers has been on constant commercial climb garnering a record-high seven-time platinum award for the combined sales of "My World," "My World 2.0," "My Worlds," "My Worlds-The Collection" and "Never Say Never." All CDs are currently available in the country via MCA Music. (with report from Yugel Losorata)

Justin Bieber tweets in Filipino - Manila Bulletin

Justin Bieber had his fans all guessing if he's already in Manila for his world tour concert as this photo shows his alleged arrival at the NAIA.

MANILA, Philippines – Canadian singing sensation Justin Bieber never fails to amaze his fans---including Pinoys, who are likely more enamored with him after he tweeted in Filipino recently.

On May 7, Bieber tweeted, "Next stop.. Manila, Philippines.. #MyWorldTour?! Mahal Kita."

This was followed by a retweet of his Pinoy fans. Itsjasaransay posted this message, which was then retweeted by justinbieber: @justinbieber can't wait 'till you come here in Manila :) I love you."

Another retweet from the singer was this post from Im_saaam: "I can't believe that @justinbieber is coming to Manila in less than a day! And on may 10 I'll be in the same room as him! So excited!"

Bieber is definitely a crowd pleaser but along the way, he has also committed minor booboos. During his concert in Malaysia, for example, an unnamed blogger, who claimed his friend was able to view the singer's error when it allegedly happened, was quoted in a report.

"Justin Bieber staged a very successful jampacked concert in Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last night April 21… But one funny 'boo-boo' happened when he showed up on stage and greeted his Malaysian fans 'Hello Manila!'"

The incident had Twitterworld in unimaginable frenzy as fans and detractors had a day voicing out their comments. While some messages are pro-Bieber, there are those who criticized the young Canadian singer.

The Bieber craze continues as the singer reportedly did not arrive as scheduled for his Justin Bieber My World Tour in Manila set on May 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

A report by DZMM said that Bieber is expected to come on May 8.

On the same day, lifestyle columnist of Manila Standard Today Harold Geronimo made an erratum on his earlier posted messages on Twitter insinuating that Bieber is already in the country.

"Got a call from the major sponsor: Justin Bieber isn't in Manila yet. He's arriving tomorrow morning. Postponed flight due to bad weather," Geronimo tweeted at around 11:45 p.m.

Geronimo also tweeted at almost the same minute, "Justin Bieber and team went on a Night Safari in Singapore tonight. Nice!"

Six hours earlier, Geronimo tweeted these messages suggesting the Canadian singer has already arrived in Manila.

"Source: EDSA Shangrila received hundreds of calls from people asking about Justin Bieber."

"Wear purple in @justinbieber's concert tomorrow. It's his favorite color!"

"Justin Bieber is now relaxing at the poolside with his production team trying some wakeboarding - Filipino-style!"

He even posted a photo of Bieber's supposed arrival at the airport. "Justin Bieber's arrival at NAIA yesterday. Quiet, no media frenzy. http://twitpic.com/4vfwmu.”

But later, he tweeted this, "I deleted the photo of Justin Bieber at the airport because I also questioned its authenticity from a source."

Before retiring to bed, Geronimo seemingly took a swipe at his detractors for criticizing his false report about Bieber.

"Good night friends! Always remember: Kung ang hayop nga nagkakamali, tao pa kaya?" he said.

To probably end all speculations about Bieber, TV5 posted on May 9 an official announcement on its Facebook account that said: "The Justin Bieber concert will push through tomorrow. There is no truth to the rumors going around social networking sites that it's cancelled."

Local singers analyze Justin Bieber's success - Manila Bulletin

By JOJO P. PANALIGAN

Justin Bieber's hits include 'Pray,' 'Never Say Never' and 'Baby'

MANILA, Philippines -- They say it takes one to know one and for many local singers, the success of Canadian teen superstar Justin Bieber is no fluke but one that can be attributed to many factors.

A day before Bieber's concert at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, Bulletin Entertainment asked the stars "What is Justin Bieber's strength as singer/performer artist? What's incredible in his success?"

Here are their answers:

Christian Bautista: "I believe Justin Bieber has a lot of things going for him. He is talented ever since he was little, singing, playing guitar, etc. As a performer, he connects with his audience well and you see his honesty as an artist. He is guided by one of the best R&B artists, Usher, and his whole team. What's incredible in his success? It's just fate, destiny, the right time, the right place, the right songs and the right outlook in life."

Kyla: "Justin Bieber magic? He has a nice voice. And he can dance. And he has appeal especially to the kids. Although some disagree, he really is talented. He can play instruments, too."

Sitti: "I think his strength is his incredible team who believed and stood by him, planned and marketed everything perfectly. He is very charming ya, but without his team, without Usher---perhaps he would not have made it this big."

Richard Poon: "JB' strength for me is his oozing confidence onstage."

Audie Gemora: "You asking this old fogey about Justin Bieber? Nothing out of the ordinary in that every generation has a teeny bopper singing idol. Crosby, Sinatra, Elvis, Beatles, Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, the boy bands. What's interesting is his instant rise to stardom was born out of cyberspace. Will he last beyond teen idolatry and not be eclipsed by new YouTube sensations? That will be the true test of his talents."

Champ Lui Pio: "I think JB has the talent to back up his fame. More importantly he has a good team behind his music. Not every teenager can be as confident as he is in showcasing his talents."

Young JV: "He came on the scene just when someone like him was needed. His music is catchy and his age was just right when he got his break."

"Justin My World Tour" in Manila with special guest Poreotics is presented by Smart with official TV partner TV5; major sponsors: Bench, SM Mall of Asia, FOX, Star World, Music Management International and AEDI; special thanks to: EDSA Shangri-La Manila, SM Supermalls, Tiger22 and Black Fleet; media partners: Manila Bulletin, Nickelodeon, Candy, Total Girl, K-Zone, Ok! Do you think he should have made it publicly known like he did on Twitter or should he have kept it more private? That's a tough one to say. It does not paint him in a good light, but he did have a right to wish Chris a happy birthday.

article source-Cambio

Justin Bieber's Australian Egging And The Art Of The Fan Revolt - MTV.com

By Jett Wells
The customer is always right, even at concerts, and sometimes that means a music fan has to open a can of whoop-ass if they don't get the show they paid good money for. Of course, sometimes things get out of control, whether it's the artist's fault or not. While it's kind of funny, Justin Bieber getting pelted with eggs at an Australian concert by a party-crashing teen is a good example of that point: Technically the teenager in question wasn't a fan — since he broke-in to the show specifically to harass Bieber (he was also subsequently arrested for his indiscretions) — but the incident goes to show you that music lovers rebel at shows for all sorts of reasons, and as far as ranking the most violent acts of fans revolting against artists, egg pelting is child's play. Here are some recent examples of their (ovum-free) protests.

Fans Sue Creed
Back in 2002 during a Creed show in Chicago, frontman Scott Stapp got so hammered he could barely remember the words to his own songs. And, granted, rock stars are supposed to be on something while performing, but in this instance, Stapp was so inebriated that four fans literally sued him for putting on a bad show ... to the tune of $2 million. The charges were dismissed, but it sent a warning to all touring musicians: rock my face off or I'll see your ass in court!

Axl Rose's Fan Brawls
It's too hard to single out one instance of the mercurial Guns N' Roses frontman getting violent with fans because it literally has happened so many times (whatever you do, don't take his picture), though his most memorable moment may have occurred in 1992, during a show in Montreal, where, in addition to his usual tardiness, Rose claimed he had problems with his voice and decided to only play 50 minutes. The crowd responded by flipping over cars and causing $400,000 worth of damage to the city.

Alice Cooper In Toronto
Canada's history of rioting music fans didn't start with Axl ... not by a long shot. In 1980, Alice Cooper canceled his Toronto show due to an illness and fans naturally didn't take the news well. The subsequent riot lead to 31 arrests and 12 hospitalizations, and caused more than $25,000 in damage. And that's a lot of Loonies.

Tila Tequila Gets Stoned
No, not marijuana, you potheads. Now, I didn't even know Tequila made music till a few hours ago, but even a reality star doesn't deserve to get beaten with rocks and Porta-Potty parts. Immediately after taking stage at 2010's "Gathering of the Juggalos," Tequila was attacked repeatedly on stage and chased down by angry ICP fans, escaping with severe lacerations and bruises. Even Axl Rose would've thought that's a bit harsh. Sounds to me like Bieber got off easy.

Tags Justin Bieber, Wanton Eggings

The true Beliebers - The West Australian

It's a question that has troubled many parents for nearly two years. Just what is the appeal of pint-sized Canadian pop star Justin Bieber? Is it his singing? His dance moves? His squeaky-clean looks? Perhaps his Christian upbringing? All of the above?

If you've just asked "who is Justin Bieber" you're clearly aged over 18 and don't move in the orbit of the tween and teenage girls who form Bieber's core fan base, aka the Beliebers.

Bieber's face, often framed by his distinctive brushed forward fringe, stares out from a startling range of merchandise from which there is no escape. He's on magazines, T-shirts, posters, quilt covers, blankets, hats, necklaces, shoes, bags, bobby pins, pencil cases, cups, balloons, straws and dinner napkins. There are even Justin Bieber masks for fancy dress parties.

Taylor White, 12, of Marangaroo, likes Bieber because "he is hot and he has good songs".

Girrawheen teen India Ewins, 15, her sister Holly, 10, and their mum Sarah Saville like Bieber for his music, looks and also think he's a good role model.

TV news reports in recent days have shown dozens of teenager girls screaming when interviewed about their idol. But it's not just tweens and their big sisters who have caught Bieber fever, symptoms of which also include crying and trembling at the mere thought of being in Bieber's presence. Surprisingly, he also has lots of younger fans.

Five-year-old Marshall Lalor, of Swanbourne, loves dressing like the superstar. "I like Justin because he's a great dancer and he looks cool," he says. "I like his shoes too." Marshall's seven-year-old sister Lucy is similarly enamoured. "I like Justin because he's really talented and sings songs that I love to sing."

Many parents like 17-year-old Bieber because, unlike so many of today's pop and rock stars, his songs sell puppy love and not sex - and there's no bleeping to cover up swear words.

Bieber is a phenomenon. In the recent 3-D documentary/concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, home video footage reveals Bieber was displaying musical talent as a toddler, particularly on the drums.

His mum, Pattie Mallette, had Justin when she was 18 and raised him with the help of her parents after separating from partner Jeremy when Justin was a baby.

Mallette began posting clips of her son singing tracks by Usher, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder on YouTube in 2007 for out-of-town relatives who missed his performances at local talent shows.

Bieber was 13 when he was discovered on YouTube in 2008 by former So Def marketing executive Scooter Braun, who is now his manager.

Braun admits in the film he was "obsessed" with finding Bieber and eventually tracked him down via a grand-aunt in his home town of Stratford, before going to Atlanta for talks. Several record companies passed on signing Bieber because they felt he needed the Disney or Nickelodeon industry machine backing him. How wrong they were. Bieber already had a readymade and huge fan base on the internet.

Even the man who was to become his mentor, R&B superstar Usher, initially blew Bieber off. "When we flew into Atlanta, Scooter drove us to the studio and Usher was there in the parking lot," Bieber recalled in a posting on his record company's website. "That was my first time out of Canada so I went up to him and was like 'Hey Usher, I love your songs, do you want me to sing you one?' He was like 'No, little buddy, just come inside, it's cold out'."

When Usher watched Bieber's videos and heard his voice, he realised his mistake and took Bieber to see Antonio "L.A." Reid, the Island Def Jam label boss who played a pivotal role in the careers of Usher, Rihanna and Pink.

"I sang for him and his people and he really wanted to sign me then and there but I still had a meeting with Justin Timberlake who also wanted to sign me," Bieber said.

"It turned out Usher's deal was way better. He had L.A. Reid backing him up and Scooter had a lot of really good connections in Atlanta.
