One commenter on VEVO's website stated: "The undertones of this video is quite creepy actually, a 41 year old cougar dressed as a stripper santa, and a 17 year old boy trying to act like a gangster. And product placement throughout. It makes Christmas a cringeworthy fest. What happen to traditional old Christmas?" NBC, which aired the video Wednesday night, received more backlash on their website message board. "This video was highly inappropriate for the viewers of NBC's 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center,' " wrote one viewer. "My husband & I were both appalled at seeing this on primetime tv for families. Most folks want heart-warming Christmas festivities, not sexy (verging on pedophiliac) overtures." While another wrote: "This video was disturbing on so many levels. "That was a huge thing going into this album. We were able to get a running start on where he's at vocally 'cause it's a natural thing. What will be noticeably different on this next album, which was teased on his holiday album, is that Bieber's voice will be much deeper. So does Harrell think it'll be changing a lot more for this next record? "I think he's pretty good right now," he said. "It's just a matter of him settling [into] where he is." He willingly discussed getting his cheek swabbed during an appearance on David Letterman's show Tuesday night. "I could smell a weasel," he told Letterman, referring to Yeater's paternity claim. Leving said Yeater, 20, has been receiving death threats, and he argued that Bieber's celebrity could interfere with the test's legitimacy – even if the sample was collected at a respected lab with a track record in the legal community. "For me to feel comfortable, I want a member of my legal team in the room when Justin Bieber's genetic fluid is sampled," he said. "This case is unique in terms of media interest, celebrity and the amount of potential child support at issue. There could be motives on the parts of many different people to corrupt the evidence." Yeater, 20, an unemployed single mom living in San Diego, filed a paternity lawsuit against Bieber on Halloween, but quietly withdrew it two weeks ago as she started receiving death threats, her Chicago-based lawyer, Jeffery Leving, told the Daily News. Leving said he was trying to have a DNA test done on a confidential basis, but it was not clear whether the lawyer had any say in Bieber's choice of lab. "I originally wanted a judge to order a DNA test to make sure the test's chain of custody was safeguarded," Leving said last week. "It's not easy." Justin Bieber,17, from the beginning, denied the incident that Yeater claimed had happened. "To set the record straight, none of it is true…never met the woman," he said. Though the lawsuit has been dropped, both parties still intend to settle outside of a court, and Bieber still will take a paternity test, the results intended to remain private. "I will state right now it's better that it's handled out of court which is in the best interests of everybody," Yeater's lawyer Jeffery Leving said, according to The Washington Post. Bieber's camp still denies he had any involvement with Yeater. "We've said from the beginning, it's sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claim," Bieber's spokesperson said in a statement. Since Bieber burst on the scene with his My World EP back in 2009, the 17-year-old has grown up with the world watching. He's gone from up-and-comer to full-fledged pop sensation, racking up chart-topping albums and a box-office hit and becoming an all-around mega-heartthrob — all in two years. Of course, with the good does come negative attention as well. Recently, Bieber was hit with a paternity lawsuit, which has since been dropped. Usher, no stranger to his own controversies, had these words for the Biebs: "Stay strong. And know that all of this comes with the territory." Aside from the drama, Usher is especially proud of Bieber's charitable side. His mentor said he "absolutely" knew the kid from Stratford, Ontario, had a big heart from the start. "To write a check is only half of it, but when you truly take on a responsibility to be a philanthropist, you accept an effort, and I really think that Pencils of Promise is something that has a very bright future," Usher told MTV News at an event for the charity, noting that Bieber is a only a small part of it. Yeater has since fielded new legal representation and reportedly wants to settle out of court -- Bieber is still planning to take a DNA test -- even as a compromising text message allegedly sent by the new mom has surfaced. Yeater still wants the test, according to her new attorney, Jeffrey Leving -- they just want to do it privately, with both sides bound by confidentiality agreements. Sources on the Bieber side told TMZ there had been no settlement discussions, but said there might have been contact regarding DNA test terms. The singer's publicist told E! News that he intends to take the test. So about that text message, which was obtained by TMZ from the recipient, who said it was sent by Yeater: The sender asks her male friend to "pleeease" erase any messages from her mom in which ex-boyfriend Robbie was named as the father. Then an offer is made to "kick u when we get paid." </div><div readability="64.0445783133"> Irony: In the text, the sender tells the recipient, "im trusting you" -- which might in hindsight seem silly, given that all the recipient asked TMZ to redact from the text-message picture was, well, his name. Attorney Leving told E! News that he was checking whether the text was authentic. "Do I know if that is true or not?" he said. "No, but I do intend to look into that as it was just brought to my attention." Leving is the one who'd said the lawsuit was pulled because of death threats and the media storm around his client. "It's better that it's handled out of court which is in the best interests of everybody," he said Wednesday. Bieber, meanwhile, seems to be doing just fine, judging by his Thursday radio interview with Elvis Duran, where he was promoting his "Under the Mistletoe" Christmas record. While the pop star has denied fathering single mom Yeater's baby son and has said he'd take a DNA test to prove it, I've learned Bieber's lawyers are going to follow through on their countersuit against Yeater — looking to make an example of the young woman, who could have faced statutory rape charges if that child was proven to be Bieber's. "This is not about money," said someone extremely close to the Bieber camp. "Clearly Mariah doesn't have anything. It's about getting a very public, widely televised apology — showing the world that people cannot subject celebrities to things like this simply because they are famous." Media-centric Chicago lawyer Jeffrey Leving is sticking with Yeater's case, claiming she is facing death threats, and says she now is represented by Los Angeles attorney John Carlson. Leving indicated Wednesday he hopes some sort of settlement will be worked out between Yeater and Bieber outside of the courtroom. From what I'm hearing, that's a pipe dream — to say the least.
