Justin Bieber Pulled Over by Florida Cops in Bizarre Traffic Stop - Gather Celebs News Channel

Oh, to be Justin Bieber! So rich, famous, and talented that he lives a life far removed from the petty annoyances regularly endured by ordinary mortals. Like getting pulled over in traffic and hassled by cops, for example. Lucky Biebs! That probably never happens to him. It must be nice. Or not.

On July 29, Justin Bieber was involved in a bizarre incident with Florida law enforcement. TMZ originally reported that JB called the police to quell a near riot situation that developed when a crowd of beliebers spotted him and started chasing him. However, the truth of what really happened has now emerged. And it's pretty darned embarrassing.

Justin Bieber was pulled over by an undercover South Beach cop who took one look at the teen dream's baby face, and thought a little kid was driving! Poor Biebs! The mortifying incident occurred outside T.G.I Friday's restaurant at 6:30 P.M.

"An undercover police officer was driving behind Justin and [his passenger] Sean Kingston," reports an eyewitness. "He pulled them over... on Ocean Drive because he thought it was strange that this young kid was driving a brand new convertible Rolls-Royce. The officer asked Justin for his ID and Justin showed him his driver's license. Both Justin and Sean were really friendly and Sean explained that the car was his."

Ironically, once the cops made Justin stop, a group of about 40 or more fans surrounded the car, taking pictures and screaming: "It's Justin Bieber!" The cops made the crowd disperse and then told Justin he was free to go.

At 17, Justin Bieber is obviously old enough to drive, but according to eyewitnesses, he was "driving like a little old lady with his two hands on the steering wheel... really funny!" Could that have fueled the cop's assumption that JB was a child taking an illegal spin in someone else's vehicle? Possibly. Other eyewitnesses found it amusing and even somewhat reassuring to see the pop superstar of the millennium subjected to the same annoying police procedures as the rest of us.

"...they pulled Justin over because it looked like a 12-year-old driving the car," claims the eyewitness, "and when the cops got up on him and realized it was Justin they all talked and laughed and Bieber went on his way. He was very polite and nice to the officers."

Oh well, it all ended satisfactorily. And some fans who might not have been able to get close to JB otherwise were able to get photos of their idol. But poor JB! Good thing Selena Gomez wasn't there. Imagine having such an embarrassing incident happen in front of your girlfriend. Talk about emasculation. It could even be called the ultimate anti-swagger moment.

© Hope Carson 2011

Hope Carson is the author of 2 books: A Roaring Girl: An Interview with the Thinking Man's Hooker and A Thousand and One Night Stands: The Life of Jon Vincent. You can follow her on Twitter.

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Poquoson teen asks Justin Bieber to prom - Daily Press

POQUOSON—

— Cady Eimer considers herself one of Justin Bieber's biggest fans.

The Poquoson High School senior has posters of the teen pop star on her bedroom wall and she knows all the words to each of his songs. She's even convinced her mom to drive hundreds of miles so she and her sister could meet him.

"I just love him," said Cady, 17. "He's really relatable and seems like a genuinely nice person."

The devoted teen fan is hoping Bieber will return the love later on this year and accompany her to her senior prom.

Cady asked the musician to be her date to the high school dance earlier this year through a YouTube video on her One Less Lonely Prom website.

The website — which is named after Bieber's "One Less Lonely Girl" song — was established in January by Cady and two of her friends with the sole purpose of getting Bieber to be her prom date.

Cady, who met Bieber twice last year at concerts in Norfolk and Greensboro, N.C., said she wants Bieber to be her prom date so she can get to know him better.

"I got to see the real him at a sound check where he was laughing, joking and talking to everyone," she said. "He really seemed like someone I'd be friends with."

She said her friends helped her come up with the idea of asking Bieber to prom.

For months, Cady posted several videos alone and with her sister posing the question to the star. Her last video — which she posted in April — features Cady and her sister dressed in bandannas, baseball caps and sweatshirts rapping about why Bieber should take her to prom.

"I like you for you so your mom would approve," Cady said in the rap.

Cady has become an Internet sensation after a Huffington Post reporter wrote earlier this week about her website. Over the past week, her story has been featured on numerous blogs, in addition to Access Hollywood and OK magazine.

Cady's mom, Cheri Eimer, said she never thought her daughter's website would get so much attention.

"I'm proud of her," she said. "If they had this technology when I was a teenager I'd have asked my celebrity crush to go prom with me. Regardless of how it turns out she's living her life without having to look back and say what if."

Cady said Bieber hasn't responded to her video.

However, celebrities joining fans on their special day isn't unheard of. Singer Justin Timberlake and Actress Mila Kunis recently accepted invitations to attend the Marine Corps Ball later this year after seeing YouTube videos posted by fans.

Cady said she has the support of her friends, family, classmates and the dozens of people who have posted YouTube videos backing her plea on the Internet.

She isn't sure who she'll take to prom if Bieber isn't able to attend.

"I haven't really thought about it," she said.

Want to know more?

Visit Cady's website, http://www.onelesslonelyprom.com, or follow her on Twitter at http://www.twitter.comcadyeimer

Bieber, Celebs Help Texas Kids Orphaned in Crash - ABC News

The plight of three Houston children who were orphaned and seriously injured as a result of a deadly car accident earlier this month prompted various celebrities — including Justin Bieber, Ellen DeGeneres, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga — on Wednesday to encourage their fans to donate to a new campaign that is raising money for their care.

Bieber and other celebrities asked their fans via Twitter and Facebook to donate to the "Show Your Hearts" campaign. The money being raised from the campaign launched Wednesday will go to a trust fund that has been set up for the children's care.

"It is a really sad story, but this is an opportunity for me and my friends to do something good for others," Bieber said in a statement. "We can use our influence to do good. We are just doing our part and I hope those kids get something positive out of it."

In its first day, the campaign raised more than $30,000. A Facebook page that had previously been created to highlight the trust fund and publicize fundraising efforts, including bake sales and lemonade stands, that have taken place in the Houston area and around the U.S. has helped raise more than $200,000.

AP

Sarah Joseph, right, holds a donation bucket as Houston Rockets employees and family members line up to hug the Rockets' mascot, Clutch, during the launch of the 10,000 Hugs-to-Help fundraising campaign Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in Houston, to assist three surviving children whose parents were killed in a car accident.

On July 22, Justin Bieber treated his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, to a picture-perfect birthday of shopping, Disneyland, and dinner at "one of Hollywood's finest Japanese restaurants." In addition to sharing some cute and cuddly PDA, the famous couple shared a gourmet feast. In fact, JB even hand-fed his lady-love sushi with his own fingers. Awww...

According to Hollywood Life, Justin Bieber, 17, and the now 19-year-old Selena Gomez were openly affectionate with each other throughout the meal.

"Justin and Selena were just adorable when they celebrated her birthday at Geisha House on Friday night," claims an eyewitness. "They seemed really happy and totally in love. While they were eating dinner, Justin fed her a Hollywood sushi roll, which is a roll with crab, avocado and tempura cucumber. They also had the Marilyn Monroll, which is a roll with shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy sauce. They also shared the glazed short ribs and grilled Alaskan salmon teriyaki."

And it gets even better. Not only did the other Geisha House patrons get a look at the second most famous celebrity couple on earth, they also got an impromptu mini-show from JB.

"For dessert, they shared tempura green tea ice cream. It had three candles in it, and everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to Selena, including Justin. Right before she blew out the candles, Justin said 'Make a wish!' and she smiled. After she blew out the candles, Justin leaned over and kissed her on the lips. It was super sweet! They are both really down-to-earth and well-mannered. They really do compliment each other."

Lucky Geisha House diners. Wonder if any of them showed up on July 22 with even an inkling that they would be dining in the same establishment as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Plus, what are the odds that the Geisha House's already booming business will now double or triple? And lucky Selena Gomez. A Month off for Justin Bieber Then Watch Him Go - Suite101.com

He's got the insight to know he had to.

Time off for a job well done is what Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber is being rewarded with as the 17-year-old singer told the Hollywood Reporter on July 20, 2011 that he needs down time to do what kids his age normally do with a summer. And why not? Since beginning his journey to success he's worked tirelessly and traveled a long way in a short time.

So it is that he told HR that of late he has been busy doing something else - taking a month off. And is always the case with the singer from Stratford, Ont., he has great insights into what's going on around him and what he needs to do to process it and enjoy it all.

"It's been great to just think and enjoy hanging out with my friends," he said. "I'm still growing up, and when you're working every day, you don't really get a chance to figure out who you are. So with the time off, I'm able to think, pray and just kind of grow up."

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never

Since he and mother Patti Mallette appeared on a Canadian daytime TV show together - clips are in his documentary - called Full Circle when he was a small, pretty shy 14-year-old and talked to the hosts about their plan to go to the U.S. and work with Usher to create a career for Justin, they have done just that.

And how. As of this writing his numbers on Famecount, an internet site that tracks social media, are massive. He has 11,202,251 Twitter followers, 33,394,537 Facebook Fans and 1,772,766,081 Youtube Views (yes, that's 1.7 billion). He's got the sixth highest total of Facebook fans on the planet and is second to Lady Gaga and a spot ahead of President Barack Obama in Twitter followers. Master Bieber is top of the heap in Youtube Views.

Further, he's toured the world multiple times, recorded albums with stars, had Justin Bieber: Never Say Never become a huge hit, had pajamas and other clothing come out with his picture on them, singing dolls, books and a fragrance, 'Someday' currently outselling established perfumes by a large margin. He has also won dozens of music awards in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Brazil, the U.K. and in other countries.

Justin Bieber: Battery Recharge

So time off to recharge the batteries - he said he's been sleeping a lot - is deserved and needed. But already he's talking about the work he has upon his return, about the new album he's working on and songwriting. It's been since March of 2010 since he's come out with an entire album of new material and after his break look for him to get back into the studio and start laying down some tracks.

He'll also return to the talk show circuit and touring and to continuing to contribute to charities like 'Pencils for Promise', the 'Make a Wish Foundation' and those devoted to anti-bullying and to getting the message out that texting and driving is a dumb idea.

In other words, after a little R&R, Justin Bieber is gonna get back to being Justin Bieber.

Copyright Marcus Hondro. Justin Bieber's Next Big Adventure: Pee-wee Herman's Movie? - MTV.com

SAN DIEGO — Beliebers are in luck, because Justin Bieber might be heading to the big screen once again soon, if Pee-wee Herman has his way.

Turns out Herman, who has been working on a new film alongside producer Judd Apatow, has recently written the VMA nominee in as one of the celebrity cameos. The only problem? Bieber doesn't know yet.

"I can't really tell [what the cameo is], but he makes an appearance toward the end of the film," Herman (actor Paul Reubens, but we definitely interviewed Pee-wee) told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con. "He doesn't know about it yet, so if you're watching this, Justin!"

That's not the only grade-A cameo Herman has written into the script. He has his eyes on lots of stars — and the White House.

"There's a party scene in the film that I think will have a lot of the stars. We just wrote President Obama into them. We have an offer out to him," Herman unveiled. Will any other government officials be given a role in the movie? "Sarah Palin wasn't asked. I have to draw the line somewhere, and unfortunately that's where it was drawn. I'm sorry, Sarah, I'm sorry," he whispered.

The script for the currently unnamed comedy is being looked at by Universal Studios at the moment, and Herman said he hoped filming could begin within the next couple of months. It only helps that he has Apatow in his court and that the director/producer has words of wisdom to pass on to Herman to make the best comedy he can.

"He's given us the same advice over and over again, which is 'emotional arc,' " Herman explained. "He wants the character to go through an emotional arc and to come out on the other end arced. So that's what we're doing. We're adding an emotional arc. Emotional growth, so there's a change in Pee-wee Herman during this film.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez recently made headlines when they crashed a wedding. During a stroll on the beach, they heard someone playing JB's hit, One Less Lonely Girl, and they popped in. Low and behold, one of the wedding guests was the Biebs' number one fan, Paige Conway, whom he'd met on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in February. Quel coincidence. Or was it?

Rumor now has it that the Jelena wedding crashing incident was staged for publicity. Paige Conway is the bride's cousin. Sources report that upon entering the wedding, Justin Bieber "walked right up to Paige and tapped her on the shoulder as she was singing his song and she was absolutely shocked!" But was her shock real? Or is the 15-year-old Paige, like everyone else in Hollywood, an aspiring actress?

Some eyewitness found the experience a little too unreal.

"I couldn't believe how surreal it was that Justin Bieber crashed the wedding party while the DJ was playing one of his songs," marvelled one. "It was just crazy."

Others just seemed so glad to have been there to meet Justin and Selena, that they simply accepted the situation as a bizarre and fortuitous coincidence. Including the groom himself, Rob McCool, who is convinced that the incident "was not planned."

"It kind of became a frenzy when everyone from the wedding party discovered he was there and they all wanted a picture with him," Rob recalls. "Justin was super cool and really down-to-earth. ...he was a good sport and it was so much fun to have him show up at our wedding. What a wonderful memory to have, especially for my wife, Jeanine and her little cousin Paige."

All the guests reported that Selena Gomez "stood quietly on the sidelines while her boyfriend signed autographs, danced, and took pictures..." Oddly enough the famous teen couple did not stay to sample the wedding cake.

It is highly doubtful that the crashed wedding was a staged event. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez can garner publicity just by showing up and making out in any crowded public place. They hardly need to crash a belieber's cousin's wedding.

Still, the incident will no doubt make Jelena fans and foes alike wonder if the famous teen couple are contemplating tying the knot themselves. Especially with Selena Gomez's birthday right around the corner. Did the wedding make Justin think about a birthday proposal?

What do you think?

© Hope Carson 2011

Hope Carson is the author of 2 books: A Roaring Girl: An Interview with the Thinking Man's Hooker and A Thousand and One Night Stands: The Life of Jon Vincent. Justin Bieber Scores Biggest Celebrity Fragrance Launch With Someday - Daily Glow

Perhaps he's inspired by his adorable girlfriend, Selena Gomez!

Although the results of Bieber's nail polish collaboration with Nicole by OPI, which flew off store shelves faster than a top coat could dry, were impressive (despite some initial skeptics touting the line that a guy can't sell girls' nail polish), the real sign of his beauty power is the recent launch of his first women's fragrance, Someday.

According to Terry Lundgren, president and CEO of Macy's, Someday has "become the biggest celebrity fragrance launch on record." Just how big? The New York Daily News reports that it netted more than $3 million in retail sales at Macy's in just three weeks.

The overwhelming success of Someday is even more significant given that it's a girls' fragrance created and promoted by a guy, a point that Bieber's manager Scooter Braun was quick to recognize when Hollywood Life chatted with him. "We were blown away. It's incredible. This is just the beginning," enthused Braun. "We are beyond pleased, and we hope that more people enjoy the fragrance. When we started the process, people thought we were nuts."

But Bieber knows the secret: "Let's be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy! I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them close to my world," he revealed.

Despite Someday's success among fans with Bieber Fever, it has still faced its fair share of critics. High-flying fashionistas and industry pros cried foul with accusations of plagiarism: Justin Bieber's flower-topped perfume bottle resembles that of Marc Jacobs' Lola, also launched recently and also targeted to a younger, trendsetting demographic. Similar packaging or not, the girl who buys Someday is buying Justin Bieber and nothing more.

Obviously, the chart-topping Bieber isn't a one note wonder in music, and it seems like he won't be in the fragrance industry, either. Braun said that a second women's perfume release is absolutely an option.

Last Updated: Tuesday, July 19, 2011

More Beauty News

Ask A Question. A Justin Bieber wedding crash is just that much more special, no? - Los Angeles Times (blog)

Justin Bieber, wedding crasher? Impossible, unlikely, irritating -- you decide.

Say, for the sake of argument, that you're having a wedding in Malibu. (Of course, then, you're not reading this blog yourself. That's what assistants are for, silly!) You've shelled out the $30,000 required for the inevitable fireworks, you've bought the air space above your estate to make sure no paparazzi helicopters fly over your event (because that's what Jennifer Aniston did when she married Brad Pitt, and it sounded like a cute thing to do), and Vera Wang has dropped off the strapless, white floor-length but still totally unique gown.

The Big Day arrives. You say your "I do's." Everybody cheers, including the roughly 40 of your 200 guests whom you've never, really, technically, met. The music cranks up: It's a karaoke version of Bieber's "One Less Lonely Girl."

At the very moment when this song is tearin' up your bash, Bieber himself happens to be walking by on the beach. He hears the song. Lo! The natives are clearly praying for his intervention in some grave matter, and he must intercede immediately! He has no wedding invite, of course, but he does have a publicist, and that trumps an invite, in Malibu at least. So and his plus-one, girlfriend Selena Gomez, just walk in.

Why are we posing this scenario? Because it happened! And it was glorious! Granted, we can't say for sure whether there were fireworks or a Vera Wang gown, but there was a Bieber all right. Per TMZ: "We're told Justin snuck up on some guests -- who predictably OMG'd and LOL'd -- and then hopped on the mic, saying, 'We just crashed it. We heard a party so we decided to just come. So let's party.'"

Bieber then reportedly blew the minds of these undeserving hobbits for another 10, photo op-filled minutes before leaving everyone a little more special than they were before.

There is no record of Bieber bringing a gift. Then again, just being with Bieber for more than three minutes is a gift to everybody.

RELATED:

Justin Bieber survives a wild day in New York City

Justin Bieber gets around at the ESPY Awards [Pictures]

Justin Bieber goes to the movies with Selena Gomez — for her 'Monte Carlo' premiere

-- Leslie Gornstein

Photo: Justin Bieber performs in Manila -- no, not Malibu -- in May. You might remember that the location was the site of a mob of teenage girls who showed up for a glimpse of their Canadian pop hero when he showed up to promote Someday for the first time.

The scent is off to such a running start that fragrance industry insiders predict that if it continues to sell at this clip, it will be the best selling aroma of 2011.

Karen Grant, an industry insider, told the beauty and fashion trade Women's Wear Daily that not since Glow, which was Jennifer Lopez's debut scent, and Curious, which was Britney Spears' first fragrance, has a celebrity perfume done this well in sales.

Macy's Inc. president and chairman Terry Lundgren said that the launch was bolstered by the Bieb's June 24 appearance at the store. Lundgren declared that Bieber's personal appearance "resonated with our customers and has become the biggest celebrity fragrance launch on record."

There was a bit of a fracas at the appearance, with some sources saying that the 'Baby' singer was knocked down. It turned out to be a typical Biebs appearance, where girls go nuts with excitement and mob mentality ensues.

Regardless though, the Biebs' handlers know a thing or two about marketing to his tween girl fanbase. The singer's 'One Less Lonely Girl' line of Nicole by OPI nail polishes sold out, and were so popular that the line was expanded and extended.

The Biebs has already conquered nail polishes and perfumes. We're foreseeing Bieber-branded lip glosses are on the horizon! We can't help but wonder if his gal pal Selena Gomez spritzes her pulse points with Someday before their dates.

Watch the Official Commercial for Someday'

Justin Bieber, Lil Twist Working on New Single, Possible Mixtape - KOvideo

Young Money's Lil Twist broke news about a single, titled "Wherever You Are," that will feature Justin Bieber. "Wherever You Are" is the first official track of a mixtape collaboration Twist and Bieber began working on last year.
Considering Justin Bieber's penchant for announcing news via his Twitter account, such as his video shoot with Chris Brown and making and possibly producing on a new album, not hearing about a song he's working on with Young Money's Lil Twist is odd. Although Bieber spoke of a mixtape he and Twist were recording in the fall, Twist broke the news to MTV about their collaboration on track "Wherever You Are," which does not have a release date as of yet: "It features my little brother Justin Bieber and I believe that that record is going to really do it."

Bieber will also be featured in the single's music video. Twist explained: "We're gonna get some treatments [written]. We're not just gonna pick any treatment because that video could just be out of here. We got a few different ones; I don't mean to name any [directors], but a few different ones. It's going to turn out great."

"Wherever You Are" is an early glimpse of the mixtape mentioned by the singer and rapper last year. In a November interview with MTV, the Twist detailed what fans should expect: "We recently did 'Billionaire' by Travis McCoy and Bruno Mars. We did that over with our own words, like a remix. That's how we're gonna do the majority of the mixtape, with other people's records and just me freestyling over it. And Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in."

A spontaneous decision between the two, the untitled mixtape came about after Bieber and Twist were introduced by a mutual friend and began working together in the studio.

In addition to singing with Twist, Bieber may bring back his rapper personality, Shawty Mane. In the same interview with MTV, Bieber gave insight about his alternate personality and need to separate Shawty from his typical pop star performer: "I don't know, me and my friends were just messing around and they were like, 'Shawty Mane,' and I was like, 'Yeah, that'll be my nickname.' Shawty Mane is just like a funny character. You know, Justin Bieber is not a rapper, and it would just be lame if I came out rapping. It's lame anyway because I'm like a pop singer, but I thought it was funny, I just did it as a joke. It wasn't like anything serious."

Justin Bieber's “Baby” in YouTube jeopardy, America freaks out - Washington Post (blog)

The Justin Bieber rumor du jour: Sinister forces are conspiring to yank his beloved "Baby" video from YouTube.

According to the always reliable blogosphere, "Baby" will be pulled from the site not because of the sort of legal issues that briefly ended Rebecca Black's reign of YouTube terror, or because of the wrath of a vengeful God, but because the clip, which has as of this writing been viewed 583,492,017 times (it is the most viewed video in YouTube history), has also garnered over 1.5 million "dislikes." According to Bieber alarmists, this is enough to trip YouTube's "Universal Revulsion" algorithim (that's not really what it's called. But wouldn't it be great if that was what it was called?) and trigger the video's expulsion.

This theory, of course, is not true. YouTube doesn't take down videos simply because a large number of viewers don't like them. Copyright issues or whether the video meets the company's social guidelines are more likely reasons to get a video yanked. ("Don't worry!" YouTube tweeted on Monday. "Baby is still here"). Still, an enraged army of tweens, afraid of seeing "Baby" get "Friday"-ed (though "Friday" was taken down at Black's request) sprung into action anyway. Petitions were circulated. Signatures were collected. Tweets were tweeted. #Dontdeletebaby became a trending topic on Twitter.

Some of the more awesome/crazy reactions:

Fom DABieber Smile: "Dear Youtube, #dontdeletebaby 'cause you will became un-popular. Sincerely, Myspace."

From ktluvsthebieb: "#dontdeletebaby or i will literally drop dead"

From JBiebsonreplay: Dear Youtube, Roses are red, Violets are blue. If you delete BABY, over 10 MILLION girls will dislike you. #DontDeleteBaby

Bieber himself, usually an inveterate tweeter, has not yet weighed in.

???initialComments:true! pubdate:07/11/2011 17:29 EDT! commentPeriod:3! commentEndDate:7/14/11 5:29 EDT! currentDate:7/12/11 12:2 EDT! allowComments:true! displayComments:false!

It's a Bieber-fest - New York Post

They say that cats and teenagers can lie on the sofa for hours without moving. At least with these magazines, the teens have to turn pages once in a while.

Twist magazine's August issue delivers an overdose of Justin Bieber for its tweeny readership. Perhaps to the delight of his 15-year-old fans, Twist's coverage of JB, the Biebster, or just plain old Justin, goes well beyond text and into full-size pullout posters. Shooting for the intimate banter to which Twist's audience is accustomed, the Bauer Group publication tends to dispense with the formality of last names when referring to its blossoming starlets and budding beefcakes. So if you're older than, say, 15, you might find yourself wondering who the heck are Cody, Selena, Demi (not Moore), Ashley or Zendaya.

With Stephenie Meyer's final Twilight series movie, "Breaking Dawn" wrapping up taping, Bop magazine suggests that Suzanne Collins' "Hunger Games" trilogy, which is already headed to a theater next year, may be an apt replacement. Elsewhere, the monthly mag dishes that singer Cameron Quiseng of Disney group Allstar Weekend fame has been "spending a lot of time" with Bieber's gf Selena Gomez. Watch your back, Bieber! Bop also offers dating "do's and don'ts" for those tweenies aiming for a summer romance: Ice cream parlor trips and bike rides get a thumbs-up; texting while on a date . . . not so much.

Pick up a copy of teenybopper mag J-14 to explore a series of high-drama teen redemption stories as seen through the eyes of the stars. Turns out Lady Gaga was bullied as a teen and Demi Lovato recently overcame severe body shame. To her credit, Gaga doesn't bully back despite her current might, but simply tells her story as a way to speak out against bullying and discrimination. Gaga says she was tossed in a trash can in her school days by a group of boys and girls, who apparently didn't like her buck teeth and big nose. Not all the stories are so deep. The mag over-dramatizes Taylor Lautner's struggles to balance his two lady loves: His new girlfriend and his best friend and Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart.

Tiger Beat is the place to go for the oddly old-fashioned posters of supposedly hot teen stars to ruin the paint job on your kids' wall. But there's not much substance -- surprise, surprise -- in the articles. When it comes to posters, they have everything from Bieber to his new sweetie, Gomez. These two are like the Brad and Angelina of the teenybopper world. If you're a Bieber fan, Tiger Beat is hoping to woo you with a "24-hour adventure with the Biebs" -- which is really just pics of the young star at different points in an ordinary day. There's also a discussion with Bieber's personal trainer, who walks readers through his new regimen to get buff for Selena. Readers won't likely learn much they don't already know because it's all about the eye candy with this mag.

If a $14 turkey sandwich is your idea of a value meal, then pick up a copy of New York. Its annual "Eat Cheap" issue signals that the recession is over in the Big Apple, the surest being that the price of a Gray's Papaya hot dog has surged 30 percent since 2009, to $1.95. Elsewhere, fishermen air their complaints in a good and depressing feature, in which they explain how they've been throwing back millions of tons of fish before they reach the dock, killing them in the process, in order to comply with regulations. While global over-fishing has clearly reached crisis levels, the other crisis is that we haven't found a way to deal with it.

Time likewise puts fish on its cover, with an unusually gripping story on the rise of farming to meet surging demand. The Chinese have the largest and possibly the most environmentally dirty, fish-farming operations in the world. Also worrying is the development of fast-growing, genetically modified "Frankenfish," which in addition to unknown health effects on humans, could escape into the wild and wreak havoc on their non-enhanced counterparts. As for disasters on land, there's a disturbing portrait of the partition in Sudan, with some riveting photos of victims maimed in the civil war, with many observers calling newly formed South Sudan a "pre-failed state."

Newsweek, meanwhile, continues its summer nap, putting Sarah Palin on its cover, as if the nation is dying to know whether she'll run for president. "There's still time, there's still months ahead," Palin says in an inexplicably exhaustive and dull interview that seems designed, more than anything, to fill up space. Vacationing editor Tina Brown doesn't bother to phone in a letter to readers this week. Nevertheless, her underlings do provide the obligatory photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which apparently seems to be requirement for going to press. "The royal couple played hockey, planted flowers, greeted admirers, and even got a bit of a sunburn on their trip through Canada," the mag reports, for anybody who gives a hoot.

That's one of the headlines on this month's edition of Star Magazine, along with the photos of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Is a shock tactic to get those at the grocery store to buy the magazine? Probably. Is it likely, though? Somewhat.

PHOTOS: Selena Gomez with Justin Bieber's name initialed on her dog tags — did Justin give them to her?

After all, Gomez and Bieber have been have been seen getting very intimate in recent months, whether they are on vacation in Hawaii, in Bieber's original home country of Canada, or in Los Angeles. A source close to Star Magazine states that Bieber's parents are getting increasingly worried that their young love will turn into a lifetime of regrets if his girlfriend Gomez gets pregnant.

PHOTOS: Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez in Canada, hand-in-hand

A source tells Star that "Justin's been told straight up that if he's having sex, he had better use protection" by his parents. The source adds, "Everyone knows their intentions are good, but they also know how easy it is to get worked up when you're young and in love. It would only take a few moments of weakness to cause what could be a lifetime of regret." Last month, the Internet starting buzzing after Selena Gomez entered a hospital shortly after a Tonight Show taping, with many fans of Bieber and Gomez, as well as critics of the two, started rumors that Gomez was in the hospital because she was experiencing early pregnancy symptoms. Of course, it turned out to be a false alarm because Gomez said that she was simply "very malnourished" due to a poor diet.

PHOTOS: Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez in Hawaii – get close inside the water

Sales Down: Justin Bieber's Mug Leads to Poor Magazine Sales - Suite101.com

Maybe Adding Miley Cyrus May Help Bieber Mag Sales - Photo Image by Hapless Full

Justin Bieber can do lots of things but he can't sell magazines. Or so it seems as Vanity Fair has poor sales with Bieber on cover. Other mags did, too.

The Audit Bureau of Circulation's Rapid Report released on July 5, 2011 has detailed a chink in the armor of singer Justin Bieber. The 17-year-old Canadian pop star has built up a massive following with 10 million followers on Twitter and sets records on Youtube and other social media. Those are unassailable successes for him.

But he has a weakness: magazine sales.

The ABC Rapid Report details sales of the February issue of 'Vanity Fair' with Bieber's lipstick covered face on the cover and the numbers, reported widely by newspapers like the Washington Post, and info sites, are downright bad. The report's numbers indicate the issue is one of the poorest selling for the magazine in two decades and may be the worst selling since Will Smith was on the cover 12 years ago.

Teen Girls Don't Buy 'Vanity Fair'

It seems clear the low number, 246,000 copies of the magazine that has his face on the cover had sold at the time the figures were compiled, are a result of 'Vanity Fair' not exactly being fare for preteen and teenage girls, the young persons flocking to watch his movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never multiple times and who are purchasing his music in the millions.

But wait, as the 'USA Today' reports, it's not just Vanity Fair that experienced a decline in sales after putting Bieber on the cover. His 'Teen Vogue' cover sold some 12 percent fewer copies than their average for 2010 - the issue came out in October of 2010 - and his 'People' magazine cover was 25 percent below the average of that magazine's more usual sales.

Justin Bieber Sells Records, Film Tickets

Those are not great numbers, and while 'People' magazine might be, like 'Vanity Fair', a mag that is not exactly within his demographic, certainly 'Teen Vogue' is, if not directly in it, then within the range. Why is this occurring? There seems no one out there with a theory as to why he's not a big draw to the magazine buying public, though there are suggestions his popularity might be on the wane.

That theory, however, is not being supported by his continued sales in other areas, including record sales and film tickets where recently he has had big successes. It may be, and this is the thought here, that beyond 'Tiger Beat,' magazine's are simply not the method of receiving information for his fans. Combine that with the possibility that non-Justin Bieber fans may feel a little inundated by his image and so avoid it.

In any case it seems early yet to report the slackening of Bieber Fever.

Copyright Marcus Hondro. Justin Bieber picks up tab after Selena Gomez's fan is snubbed - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez did NYC up right this weekend, from shopping sprees to dinner dates. While Justin and Selena would be no where without their fans, the security staff needed to keep the fans away from the couple. One request that was made by a fan was turned down, but Bieber made it up to them.

Dinner and shopping was the theme for the couple this holiday weekend and wherever they go, they draw a crowd. One fan approached the couple at dinner, but it wasn't a fan of the teen pop star, he wanted a picture taken of the lovely Selena Gomez for his niece. The security guards waved him away and the two continued on with dinner.

According to the New York Daily News, Justin and Selena carried on with their dinner at a trendy Thai restaurant. The dinner talk was about dental work and the new "Transformers" movie. Just as the two were ready to leave, Bieber picked up the check for the Selena Gomez fan that was turned away earlier. Selena's fan might now have a picture, but he has a great story to tell.

While fans have put Justin and Selena where they are on the ladder of fame, the two still deserve some time out like normal couples to enjoy dinner and shopping without being mobbed. Neither of these two stars seems to be the type to snub anyone, but in NYC they could probably spend all their time taking pictures and signing autographs, with the amount of fans that approach them. They have to draw a line.

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Have a Quiet Date Night - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber and his gal pal Selena Gomez had a quiet date night in New York City on Wednesday. It seems the pair enjoy a good comedy show as much as anyone else, and that was evident when they attended a show at Dangerfield's Comedy Club.

Bieber and Gomez arrived to the show late, with one bodyguard in tow. The two quietly entered the theater without creating a disturbance, which is pretty abnormal for the two since they are usually mobbed wherever they go. The super celeb couple didn't even want to act like the A-list stars they are, according to witnesses.

"They didn't ask for anything free or any special treatment," a club insider says. "They paid their bill like everyone else."

However, some attendees of the show seem to think that pair are oddly matched. Justin Bieber does look young for his age and Selena does look a bit older, yet they are in a pretty close age bracket so their looks shouldn't matter too much. Witnesses to the low-key date night seem to have had a different opinion, though.

"She looked like an adult woman—like 24 or 25—and real thin, but not too thin. She looked really good. But Justin was dressed like a skater kid. He looks eight. And she's dressed like a woman," said a club insider.

No matter their differences, these two young celebs are on the same path and obviously enjoy each other's company—since they've been pretty much inseparable lately. Who cares if Selena Gomez is more mature looking than Justin Bieber? If the two were ever left alone, surely they would find out if they really liked each other outside of the media spotlight. It's like any teenage romance, only it's in the public eye, making it harder and more frustrating. They don't need to be scrutinized 24/7 because the fact is that whether the public think they are a good match or not has no value over what they feel about each other.

Please provide details below to help Gather review this content. Justin Bieber Takes Time Off To Hang in the Hamptons - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber and girlfriend, Selena Gomez, were reportedly spotted today hanging out in the Hampton's. Why wasn't the Canadian singing sensation in Canada celebrating Canada Day with Will and Kate? Hmmm...

Justin and Selena were reportedly shopping at the Flying Point Surf and Sport shop in Bridgehampton. They later were spotted by observers boarding a yacht. Was it stationary or was it going to take the cute celebrity couple off to a undiscolsed locale to celebrate the 4th of July in style?

Enjoying a day out, it shows that the Bieber obviously isn't concerned about being compared to Buddha by Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show yesterday. Apparently, Shia was a little peeved at the Bieber and his worldwide domination, so he made up for his earlier negative comments by saying Bieber was similar to Buddha. Justin Bieber Keeps Selena Gomez Safe and Protected on Rock Climbing Adventure - Gather Celebs News Channel

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been photographed cavorting all around the globe from the beaches of Bali and Hawaii to their respective hometowns Ontario, Canada, and Grand Prairie, Texas. Recently in New York, however, they chucked the PDA in favor of one of JB's other favorite sports, when the Teen Dream took Selena rock-climbing.

Yes, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez took their romance to a, literally, much higher level on June 30 when they went on a very unique date: rock climbing at the Chelsea Piers' Sports Center. Their instructor and eyewitnesses claimed they were surprisingly good at it—mostly because of their great communication. And according to their instructor, the ability to communicate is the key to successful, i.e. safe, rock climbing.

"Justin and Selena took a semi-private lesson which lasted about one hour," explained the instructor, adding: "Justin was a pro and very daring. His main concern was making sure Selena felt safe and protected. They both had a blast. Even though Justin is on the small side, he is very strong!"

Apparently, becoming a successful rock climber requires the ability to "be a very good listener, pay attention to your climber, and be willing to push yourself to your limit. It does require a lot of team work." Sort of like being in a successful romance. Hmm?

Well, looks like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are, like any fun couple, finding new and ever more exciting ways to have fun together. And they were able to expand their communications skills in the process. Keep up the good work, you crazy kids.

Note: Who Says Selena Gomez is a chicken?

© Hope Carson 2011

Hope Carson is the author of 2 books: A Roaring Girl: An Interview with the Thinking Man's Hooker and A Thousand and One Night Stands: The Life of Jon Vincent.
